Introduction:

The Vine is a large fully renovated and restored former Public House providing guest accommodation on a ‘Bed and Breakfast’ basis on first floor level. The nature of the building dictates some of the accessibility constraints and the following statement will provide more details. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information or details.

Pre-Arrival:

*We are in a rural location and the use of a car is strongly recommended for all of our guests.

*The nearest train stations are Lincoln and Grimsby, approximately 40 minutes drive. You can get connecting trains to Lincoln /

Peterborough and onward connections from there.

*Taxi’s - phone numbers are available and given on request.

*We have a website with booking/enquiry facilities and can be found on Booking.com and Facebook.

*We can be contacted by telephone, text message or email.

Arrival - Car Parking/Reception:

*Access is off the A16 8 miles from Louth -  there are 2 roads off the A16 that lead to South Thoresby - one has a brown sign 'local nature reserve' the other is signposted 'Claythorpe Water Mill'.  Either road will lead to the village.

*A hanging sign for The Vine can be found on the side of the building.  Another sign is attached to the front the building at first floor level.

*On arrival turn into the car park and park in the area marked for B & B guests.

*The car park area is laid with gravel and lit at night.

*Guests are reminded that the owners can accept no responsibility for loss, damage or accident whilst leaving your car in car park of The Vine.

*Walk back out of the car park and along the side of the building until the signposted B & B Reception is reached.

*A door bell is found at the front door where you will be shown over a small step down into the reception area when checking in.

B & B guest entrance:

*Access to the B & B guest entrance is through a side gate, along a paved area which will be lit at night.

*Once checked in Lee will show you to your room.

*Access can be gained through the designated B & B door, over a small step into the hallway and through a security coded door leading up to all bedrooms.

*There is a carpeted staircase with a hand rail.  Unfortunately due to building constraints and space, we do not have a lift.

Public Areas:

*All guests have their own toilet facilities in the bedrooms.

*Gents toilet and Ladies/disabled toilet and hand wash facilities are located on the ground floor (entrance hallway) adjacent to the breakfast room.

Breakfast Room:

*Breakfast is served in the breakfast room overlooking the garden.

*Access to the breakfast room can be gained from the ground floor entrance hallway.

*Breakfast menus will be placed in each guest room in the guest information pack and also on the breakfast tables.

*All food and drinks are served by ourselves. With a choice of cereals, juices and yoghurts all displayed in the breakfast area.

Laundry:

*Not available at the property however an ironing board and iron can be provided if requested. Please speak to Lee.

Leisure Facilities:

*Not applicable for The Vine – the landing outside the B & B bedrooms will display many leaflets on things to do when staying in the area.  

Bedrooms (all situated on first floor level without lift/chair lift access):

*Audible smoke detectors are located around the building.

*Rooms have centrally operated ceiling lights giving good light levels.

*Rooms have televisions with remote controls, tea and coffee making facilitiess and hairdryers.

* A luggage mat is provided to be placed on top of the bed when unpacking/packing.

*3 out of 4 bedrooms have a comfy chair to relax in.

*All bedrooms have bedside tables, lamps, dressing tables with mirror, wardrobes and full length mirrors.

*The flooring in all bedroom areas is carpet.

*There is a good contrast in decor and colour from the walls to the carpet.

Bathroom / Shower and WC:

*Bedroom 1 has a walk in shower with a flat level walk in shower tray.

*Bedroom 2 has a walk in shower with a flat level walk in shower tray.

*Bedroom 3 has a walk in shower with a flat level walk in shower tray.

*Bedroom 4 has a walk in shower with a flat level walk in shower tray.

*All rooms have a shaving point and illuminated mirrors.

*It should be noted that sanitory waste, nappies, cleansing wipes, cottonwool etc should be disposed of in the bin provided and NOT down the toilet.

Grounds and Gardens:

*The Vine has extensive grounds directly outside the B & B guest front door, covering a large lawn area and terrace.

*The pathways around the property are original and therefore some of the surface areas may be uneven and not suitable for people with

mobility issues.

*The terrace area is available for guests to enjoy the garden and are provided with a table and 2 chairs per room.  If you would like to move the outside furniture then please ask for assistance.

Additional Information:

*All rooms are provided with a fire escape plan, located on the backs of each bedroom door. Please take the time to look at the route and familiarise yourself with the fire assembly point.

*The property is a fully non smoking property within the building.  A bin is located next to the B&B guest entrance door on the terrace for anyone wishing to smoke.

*We have a utility room where wet clothes can be hung up to dry should you need it, also a place for storing wellies and boots!

*We aim to be available to our guests as much as possible and are happy to advise on local attractions and facilities. Guests can use the internal doorbell located on the door marked 'Private' on the landing to reach us after 6pm.

*The door to the breakfast room  will be closed after 5pm. Guests staying will have a key to the front door on a Yale lock and will be able to gain access to the bedroom area.

*We accept cash, Debit cards and credit cards.
